Fattori Valpolicella, Col de la Bastia
Fattori Valpolcella is traditional and classic in the Venturini style, with a bouquet of rose petals, dried cherries and spices without all the oak and fruit that can be found in styles like Tommaso Bussola. The wine beautifully expresses its single vineyard, “Col de La Bastia”, which is higher in altitude than many others of the zone and has limestone rich soils that produce structure.
Varietals: 65% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, 10% Teroldego and other varieties
Vineyard: Col de la Bastia, In the “Val d’Illasi” near Romano Dal Forno; highest point of the area, at 450m altitude
Farming: Organic
Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel; maturation in barrel
Aging: 18-24 months in 5-10 HL barrels
