Matteo Correggia Barbera d’Alba

The Alba DOC covers the Barbaresco and Barolo regions and also crosses the Tanaro river to include Roero. While close in proximity the wines from Roero are strikingly different from their neighbors across the river. Barolo and Barbaresco reserve their top sites for the famed Nebbiolo grape but in Roero Barbera shares top billing with Nebbiolo and sometimes finds itself on prime south-facing slopes. Correggia’s Barbera comes from well-exposed sandy slopes that give the wines great ripeness along with delicate floral aromatics and the variety’s trademark acidity which makes the wine the perfect pizza/pasta wine. It is vinified and aged to maintain the juicy fresh fruit and zippy acidity which makes it so enjoyable and versatile. Region:
